Daniel Segovia Vargas: He is a Telecommunication Engineer and a Telecommunication Engineer Doctor in 1993 and 1998, respectively, from the Polytechnic University of Madrid. From 1993 to 1998 he was an assistant professor at the University of Valladolid. Since 1998 he has been a professor at the Carlos III University of Madrid (UC3M) and since 2001 a Full Professor at the University (Signal and Communications Theory) at the Carlos III University of Madrid, where he teaches Microwave and High Frequency Circuits and Antennas. He has been a member of the IEEE since 1998 (AP-S company since 1998 and MTT-S company since 2001). From 2004 to 2010 he was Director of Telecommunication Engineering at the UC3M Higher Polytechnic School and from 2012 he is Director of the Superior Polytechnic School of the Carlos III University of Madrid. Since 2003 he has been co-responsible for the Radio Frequency Group,

He is the author of more than 150 publications in a magazine and international conference (more than 50 in an indexed international magazine, 20 in a guest international conference). His lines of research include antennas, active antennas, metamaterials, and THz technologies. He has been a visiting researcher at Rutherford Appleton Laboratory. He has been president and organizer of URSI2011, member of the Organizing Committee of Eucap 2010 (presiding over the awards committee), he has organized several international Workshops in the field of THz metamaterials and technologies. He has been a national delegate of Cost actions in the field of antennas (Cost 284, Cost IC0603, Cost IC1102) since 2002.
