Professor Kookheon Char is a full professor at the School of Chemical and Biological Engineering and the Dean of Engineering at Seoul National University (SNU), Korea. Professor Char studied Chemical Engineering in the Seoul National University and the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) (both in Korea). He earned his PhD from Stanford University in 1989. After his post-doctoral research at IBM Almaden Research Center, he returned to Korea to become a professor at the Seoul National University. He currently serves as the vice president at the National Academy of Engineering of Korea (NAEK). His awards include the American Physical Society Fellow (USA), the Gutenberg Research College Fellow (Germany), and the Gutenberg Research Award (Germany) among others. He also serves as full members of the National Academy of Engineering of Korea (NAEK) and the Korean Academy of Science & Technology (KAST).
